Currently (spring 2021), because of COVID-19, the Highland Lakes Writers’ Club is not meeting in person.
We do, however, hope to start meeting regularly again as soon as it’s “safe” to do so. With luck, that will be later this spring or this summer.
In the meantime, the club is updating—and will soon be adding to—our website, including several new features suggested by members. We plan also to reactivate The Write Way, HLWC’s monthly e-newsletter.
We often read our original works at our monthly meetings when there isn't a program going on. We have some great story-tellers and poets to entertain and inspire you.
Our club is predominantly a group of writers at various stages, from those who write for personal enjoyment, to those who are published authors. At our meetings you will be able to "test-drive" your work in progress as well as learn from experienced writers through programs that the club presents from time to time as well as one-on-one contacts. No matter your level of expertise, there is something for you at our club.
But one of the biggest reasons to join us is the family-like atmosphere and mutual support we offer for not only our writing, but for our lives as people. Come and join us in our journey to explore experiences through the eyes of one another.
To further explore our club, we invite you to click on the links to the left to discover more about us, as well as our meeting times. We look forward to visiting with you in person.
